The Coaching Process

As a coach, I will…

  • Listen deeply to you
  • Ask powerful and insightful questions
  • Assist you in problem solving and thinking creatively
  • Guide you to build practices that reinforce learning
  • Support you in your desired outcomes

The first step is a free coaching consultation session where I demonstrate coaching with you and answer your questions. If coaching is right for you, we schedule a 1.5 hour intake session where information is gathered and core issues discussed. A coaching agreement is completed and regular coaching sessions begin. We will develop a coaching program that includes practices and readings that complement our sessions.

There are several options for how often we meet, depending upon your learning style and time schedule. Options include weekly one hour sessions or every other week. Coaching sessions may be conducted over the telephone or in person. The initial coaching agreement is generally for at least three months, the minimum amount of time needed to incorporate new learning. Please call to discuss coaching fees.

I am also available for individual coaching sessions if you want to try out coaching or if you want to work on a particular short-term question or program.

I work with clients from around the country via telephone and Skype. I also work with clients in person in Louisiana and on an occasional basis in other states.

Why Work With Sue?

My clients describe me as caring, compassionate, a great listener, and able to get to the heart of an issue. I ask sometimes surprising questions that enable you to look at yourself in ways that you have not previously. I will share a blind spot with you that you have not been able to see for yourself. I bring my own rich history and experiences to bear on our coaching to give you ideas and perspectives that you would not be able to come up with on your own. I bring together business smarts and nonprofit soul.

"Whether in my work or private life, Sue has an uncanny ability to see situations from many different angles. Her attention is complete; she really makes you feel like you matter. If I circumvent an issue, she brings me back to what is important. Sue has become one of my most important teammates. I can tell her anything, never feel judged and always feel supported. It doesn't get better than this!"

"I didn’t understand what life coaching was until I met Sue. My 10 sessions with Sue led me to a place in my career and in my personal life I thought would take me years to get to. We set a goal at the beginning of the series, achieving that – and so much more! Anytime a friend or co-worker mentions something they would like to work on in their lives, I immediately recommend Sue."

“Sue has been a great coach for me in my position as an Executive Director for the organization I founded just a few years ago. She provides me with timely and highly useful ways of changing the way I view my role and how I work to build a team to sustain my organization. I couldn't recommend anyone higher than Sue as an executive coach!”
